More Medical Supplies for Aleppo
DAMASCUS, (ST) _ A new shipment of medicines, vaccines and emergency supplies in addition to surgical groups were provided on Sunday for Aleppo governorate citizens by health institutions.
“The value of the 4th shipment of its kind to arrive in Aleppo within the past three months exceeded 84 million Syrian pounds SP,” said Minister of Health Dr. Saad Naef, noting that the shipment includes ” surgical tools and medicines for more ten thousand integrated surgery operations in addition to children’s vaccines against measles, polio, hepatitis and meningitis. “
He detailed that total value of vaccines and some medicines provided by the ministry as a humanitarian contribution by WHO and the UN Fund for Population UNFPA exceeded 72 million SP, while the value of the shipment ‘s other surgical and ambulatory supplies was estimated at 12 million SP.
“The Ministry of Health continues to mobilize efforts of its employees to provide hospitals and health centers with their needs of medicines and medical supplies to meet the health needs of citizens, ” the Minister noted , adding that ” shipments of similar medical vaccines ,medicines and food supplements will be secured for children over the next few weeks in other country ‘s governorates .
