Nasrallha: Syrians and Iraqis Are Able to Prevent the Return of Daesh

BEIRUT, (ST)- The United States has created Daesh terrorist organization to justify its return to the region after its forces’ withdrawal from Iraq, Secretary General of Hizbollah resistance movement has underscored.

In a speech on Friday, Nasrallah commented on the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s announcement that his country will keep its forces in Syria and Iraq allegedly to prevent the return of Daesh.

“The US plans to keep its military deployment in Iraq and Syria under the pretext of preventing the return of Daesh terrorists, while all the world knows that US administration was behind establishing the takfiri group,” Nasrallah said, stressing that the Syrians and the Iraqis are worthy of preventing the return of Daesh.

 “It is a lie and a kind of hypocrisy. If you want to prevent Daesh’s return ask your allies in the Gulf, the region and the world to halt their support for this terror organization and to not allow its return,” he said addressing the Americans.

Preventing Daesh’s return doesn’t need American bases or troops

“Preventing this terror organization from returning to the region doesn’t need American bases or troops because the Iraqis and the Syrians are worthy of preventing Daesh’s return,” Nasrallah made it clear, pointing out that Tillerson’s claims are only a pretext to justify the US presence in the region.

Hizbollah Secretary General went on to say that the US administration continues its scheme to undermine the Palestinian cause, noting Trump’s al-Quds decision and the recently-made decision on stopping support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). He pointed out that Trump will put more pressure on Arab countries which in turn have started  to pressure the Palestinians to abandon their rights and accept the so-called “The Century’s Deal” which gives them only crumbs.

The real bets is on the Palestinian people and their Intifada in different Palestinian areas to frustrate the US schemes, he said.

Nasrallah reiterated that resistance will firmly back the Lebanese state and that the Israelis  should take the Lebanon’s warnings seriously, affirming that Hizbollah is one of the most important forces fighting terrorism and takfiri terrorist groups in the region.
