Need for Intellectual Protection for Arab Societies Underscored
DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad reiterated the need for the creation of intellectual protection for Arab societies, which necessitates renewal thinking and systematic dialogue among Arab intellectuals as to define the priorities for resurrection and as then to continuously communicate with the people.
Receiving chairmen of the participating delegations in the meeting of General Secretariat of the Arab Writers Union, H.E. President Assad pointed out that the coming generations diverted either towards extremism or westernization, which should but assert the role of intellectuals, hence the genuine resistance is intellectual through resisting the cancellation of identity and belonging.
President Assad underscored that the crises and wars encountered by some Arab countries cannot be comprehended apart from understanding the problem of Arab Thinking.
‘Intellectuality has been a factor of the Syrians steadfastness, hence the war launched against Syria is intellectual and through media means,” added H.E. President Assad.
The delegations members asserted that Arabism can never be safeguarded without Syria, which was able to foil foreign schemes targeting its Arab, intellectual and resistance role.
