More than 200 Iranian and foreign political dignitaries and analysts from 49 Asian and European countries will attend Tehran Security Conference 2018.

Kris Janssen, a political analyst from Belgium who is taking part in the event, told Syriatimes e-newspaper that  the significance of this conference, “Regional Security in West Asia – Emerging Challenges and Trends”, is of course not limited to Iran or its direct borders but reaches far beyond and is of extreme importance for the whole region, including Syria.

According to Press TV, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami are scheduled to deliver keynote speeches at the inaugural ceremony of the conference.

The role of Iran as well as regional and extra-regional countries in West Asia security, in addition to the importance of economic development and defense cooperation in promoting the regional security are key issues to be focused on during the conference.
