Tens of Jabhat al-Nusra-Affiliated Gunmen Leave Beit Jinn in Damascus Countryside to dleb

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)- Tens of gunmen affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra terror organization left the town of Beit Jinn in the southwest of Damascus countryside to Idleb  under the supervision of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) within the framework of an agreement reached between the concerned authorities and the armed groups in the area.

According to SANA reporter, four buses carrying tens of gunmen together with their family members Friday afternoon left Beit Jinn area to the Syrian province of Idleb.

The agreement aims to stop the shedding of civilians’ blood and to protect the infrastructure and state facilities in the town.

According to the reporter, the gunmen handed over their heavy weapon before the Syrian army units entered the Mugher al-Mir and Tel Marwan villages to carry out a mopping up operation and clear it completely of mines and terrorists in preparation for the return of the locals and state institutions to the area.

The reporter said that before leaving, the gunmen blew up their headquarters and burned documents that may uncover their supporting forces as well as everything that was inside the headquarters.

Over the past weeks, the Syrian army in cooperation with supporting popular defense groups carried out a precise and intensive military operation in Beit Jinn and Mughr al-Mir areas to liberate them from the terrorists who wrecked havoc in and destabilized these areas. As a result, heavy human and material losses were inflicted upon the terrorists, some of who fled to the Lebanese town of Shib’a which is adjacent to Beit Jinn area in coordination with the Israeli occupation forces, which keep providing logistic and military support for the terrorist groups and facilitating the terrorists’ movement between the Syrian provinces of Daraa and Quneitra.
