Syrian Arab Republic Delegation, De Mistura Held Their Second Meeting within 8th Round of Geneva Intra-Syrian Talks
GENEVA, (ST)- A second meeting was held on Tuesday between the Syrian Arab Republic delegation, led by Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari, and the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura at the UN Headquarters within the framework of the 8th Round of Intra-Syrian Talks in Geneva.
The two sides held their first meeting yesterday within this round of talks.
The first part of the 8th round of the talks concluded on December 1st.
In a press conference following the first part of the talks, al-Jaafari said “there are some parties who seek undermining Geneva talks through imposing preconditions”, pointing out that the Riyadh II statement issued by the Saudi-backed opposition is categorically rejected as it has aimed at hampering the success of Geneva intra-Syrian dialogue.
