MOSCOW- Six Russian Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers delivered an airstrike on Daeh (a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) targets in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, the Russian defense ministry said on Tuesday.
“Today, six Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers that took off from an airfield in Russia delivered an airstrike on Islamic State terrorists’ targets near the settlement of Al-Sayal in the province of Deir Ezzor,” the ministry said. “All the targets were destroyed.”
The airstrike helped weaken the terrorists near Al Sayal and ensured serious advance of the Syrian army along the entire frontline, the ministry added, according to Itar Tass.
The Syrian government troops backed by Russian warplanes are about to finish extermination of the last enclave of Daesh terrorists in eastern Syria, which has shrunk to an area of seven by 11 kilometers, according to the ministry.
