DOHA,(ST)_Iraq’s Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zebari, renewed Iraq’s position provides for a political solution to the crisis in Syria through national dialogue with the meeting of the Arab League foreign ministers in Doha on Sunday that “Iraq’s position on the crisis in Syria is clear .We supported the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people and their right to decide their own future, condemning all acts of violence , adherence to a peaceful political solution ,support the national dialogue and rejection of all forms of foreign interference so as to preserve Syria’s unity and safety of its people. ”
He pointed that Iraq warned against the serious consequences of the continuing crisis in Syria on the safety and security of the region and supported all initiatives that end the suffering of the Syrian people.
Zebari reiterated Iraq reservation on representing Doha coalition in the Arab League on the ground of the AL Charter.
He continued that Iraq condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, whatever its source , motives and justifications calling to “work on uprooting it , drying up its intellectual and financial resources and renounce extremism and fatwas inciting sedition and sectarianism.”
For his part, Hamad bin Jassim Prime Minister of the chiefdom Qatar continued violation of Arab League Charter and begged for Western intervention in Syria, calling on the UN Security Council to carry out this intervention.
In Parallel, the Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi demanded UN security council to intervene in Syria and launched a new initiative that imposes a political solution that only serves Syria ‘s enemies .
The AL chief deliberately ignored Geneva statement as a way to resolve the crisis in Syria , based on dialogue ,non external interference and preserving Syrian sovereignty .
