135 Inventors Honored at al-Bassel Fair for Invention and Innovation

LATTAKIA– 135 inventors from Lattakia city were honored by the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, most of them students from Tishreen University who participated in al-Bassel Fair for Invention and Innovation that was held during the 59th session of Damascus International Fair last August.

According to SANA, an international exhibition for those inventors and creative students will be inaugurated next year, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Abdullah al-Gharbi, said in a speech during the honoring ceremony that was held at Dar Al Assad for Culture and Arts in Lattakia.

 The minister also pointed out that the Ministry is working with several ministries and other concerned parties to take advantage of these valuable creative projects and workforce in the ministries as well in the economic and trade sectors.

Furthermore, al-Gharbi called on the innovators to protect their inventions by means of gaining patents during the free-of-charge registration period which will last until December 31 sponsored by the Directorate of Industrial and Commercial Property Protection.
