Syria Comes Third in World Robot Olympiad Finals of Costa Rica

COSTA RICA- Syria came third in the “High Class” open competition of World Robot Olympiad finals which concluded its activities on Sunday with the participation of over 53 countries under the title “Sustainable Development and Benefiting from Alternative Energy.”

According to SANA, the Syrian winning team comprised of Hani al-Aqqad, Alia al-Msouti, Abdull Rahman Tillo and the coach Shiraz Shoubasi.

The competition includes three categories; the regular, open and football.

 The Syrian participant teams in the finals of World Robot were the superior among other Arab teams.

Earlier, Head of the Syrian Computer Society (SCS), Dr. Salah al-Doahji stressed, in a telephone conversation with SANA, the importance of the participation in the Olympiad in terms of developing the creativity of young people and their skills in learning science, technology and design and motivating them to follow their scientific achievements.

Syria has officially joined the World Robot Olympiad at the beginning of 2015.
