Syria’s Victory over Conspiracy Inevitable: OSPAAAL Secretary General

HAVANA, (ST)- Lourdes Cervantes, Secretary General the Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America (OSPAAAL) has stressed that Syria’s victory over the conspiracy hatched  against it by the powers of world Imperialism and the reactionary Arab regimes is inevitable.

During her meeting with the Syrian Ambassador to Cuba Idris Mayya, Cervantes hailed the victories being achieved by the Syrian Arab army in the battle against terrorism, stressing that OSPAAAl  highly appreciates the wise leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad and his adherence to  Syria’s sovereignty and independence.

 “The organization never doubted the inevitability of Syria’s victory over the continuous conspiracy which has been targeting this resistant country to undermine it and pressure it as to give up its principled stances on just regional and international causes,” said Cervantes.

She reiterated that OSPAAAL will continue to back Syria in its war on terrorism and will spare no effort to convey the truth about what is going on in the country, particularly the foreign-backed terrorism.

On his part, Mayya affirmed the determination of the Syrian people and army to uproot terrorism from the entire Syrian territory, noting the Syrian government’s continuous efforts to carry on the process of local reconciliation and to facilitate the return of displaced people to their areas after being liberated from terrorism.
