Terrorism Existential Threat Warned Against
DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad reiterated here Monday the necessity for commitment to the genuine identity of our region, the identity which is based on safeguarding the harmonious cultural and civilizational diversity, because losing such diversity would but create an environment suitable for the spread of extremism which feeds terrorism.
Receiving a group of Arab writers and intellectuals from the participants in the conference ” Arab Status following a hundred year after Balfour Declaration”, President Assad highlighted the important role played by intellectuals as to transform the national thinking into a civilizational concept and a social practice in bolstering of the identity among the youth and coming generations.
H.E. President Assad underscored that the terrorist war against Syria, especially against the identity and belonging, is an existential threat against the entire Arab Nation.
On their part, members of the delegation asserted that Syria’s steadfastness, People, Army and Leadership, and its looming victory against terrorism is but the steadfastness and victory for all Arab masses who view Syria as the leader of Arab Pan Nationalism and as the pioneering example for a genuine Arab resurrection paving the way for a better future and for the restoration of the usurped rights.
