Damascus Chamber of Commerce discusses with the Armenian delegation the development of bilateral cooperation

The Chairman of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce and several members of the Board of Directors discussed with the Armenian delegation the promotion of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and ways of removing obstacles to the development of such cooperation.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors Ghassan Al-Qalaa stressed the importance of this visit to revive the commercial and industrial trade relations between the two countries and activate trade exchanges in both directions. There should be diversification of goods. He pointed out the need to expand the Syrian-Armenian Business Council in order to increase the volume of trade exchange and export of Syrian goods to Armenia and neighboring countries.

For his part, member of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Nazrit Yacoubian, pointed out the importance of Armenian companies in the reconstruction process in Syria, encouraging and facilitating visits between the two countries and facilitating the entry of Syrian businessmen to Armenia.

The Armenian Minister explained that the visit aims to develop relations between the two sides and increase the volume of trade exchange within a short period through effective cooperation between the two sides to implement practical steps to facilitate and simplify the entry of Syrian and Armenian goods to the two countries.

A number of members of the delegation, including the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Levon Sarkisian, pointed to the widespread demand for Syrian products in Armenia, which was evident at the Syrian Products Exhibition which was held in Armenia recently, expressing the hope to strengthen the ties between the two countries and to encourage and support investments.

The two sides agreed to exchange visits of delegations and cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce in Syria and Armenia and the need for the participation of Armenian businessmen in the reconstruction of Syria.
