Foreign Ministry: the terrorist act bears al-Qaeda’s imprints

DAMASCUS, (ST)- “the terrorist act which targeted the prominent scholar Mohammad Saeed Ramadan al-Bouti bears the imprints of al-Qaeda and its allies,”underscored Foreign and Expatriates Ministry.

“the suicidal terrorist blew himself up on Thursday 21st during a religious lesson held at al-Iman Mosque in Damascus delivered by Sheikh al-Bouti, claiming the lives of 49 persons ,wounding  84 and causing a huge material damage,”said  the ministry In a letter addressed to the President of the Security Council and the UN Secretary General on Friday.

“the Syrian government is determined to protect the Syrian people against the terrorist acts of the extremist takfiri groups until it wipe them out of  the country  as their thinking contradict the values of mutual living prevailed in Syria throughout ages, underlined the ministry.

Hence,the  Syrian government calls upon the UN Security Council to denounce  this heinous crime and send clear message to the terrorists and those who  provide them with logistic, political and financial support that the international community is determined to get rid of terrorism.”
