Tunisia Looking forward to Restoring Distinguished Relations with Syria

NEW DELHI, (ST)- Tunisia is looking forward to seeing Syria enjoying security and stability and to restoring distinguished relations with the country, Khemaies al-Jhinaoui, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has stressed.

In an interview with SANA correspondent in New Delhi, Jhinaoui affirmed his country’s support for finding political solution to the crisis in Syria by the Syrian themselves.

 The minister, who is visiting India to take part in the Indian-Tunisian joint committee’s meetings, hailed the historical relations between the peoples of Syria and Tunisia, pointing out that his country is still keeping its embassy in Damascus.

Representatives of several Tunisian forces and parties recently visited Syria to voice solidarity with the Syrian state in the confrontation of the terrorism targeting the country. These delegations always call for restoring full diplomatic ties with Syria.
