Qianjin: Syria, China Are in the Same Trench against Colonialism, Foreign Intervention

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria hopes that China will play effective role in the reconstruction process in Syria, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hamoudah al-Sabbagh has stressed, noting the importance of enhancing the Syrian-Chinese political, economic and cultural relations.

During his meeting on Sunday with the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus Qi Qianjin, Sabbagh called for exchanging visits by parliamentary friendship delegations from both sides to further boost bilateral ties in all domains.

 Terrorism is expanding to all countries without exceptions

Talking about the ongoing terrorist war on Syria, Sabbagh said that Syria is fighting terrorism on behalf of the entire world, because “the danger of terrorism is expanding to all countries without exceptions.” He stressed Syria’s support for international peace and for people’s right to win their liberty and independence.

On his part, Qianjin asserted that the victories Syria is achieving at all levels, particularly in the fight against terrorism, serve ensuring peace and stability for all peoples of the world, expressing hope that Syria will soon achieve the final victory over terrorism.

Terrorists are enemies of entire world

“Terrorists are not the enemies of only the Syrian people, but the enemies of the entire world,” said Qianjin, adding “Syria and China are in the same trench against colonialism, occupation and foreign intervention”.

The ambassador renewed Beijing’s firm support for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria, reiterating that his country will keep providing political, economic and humanitarian support for the Syrian people.

He also affirmed the need to consolidate cooperation between China, Russia and Iran to assist the Syrian people in the confrontation of the terrorist war.
