Syria Slams UNSC’s Inaction on Zionist Enemy’s Repeated Attacks against Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has criticized the UN Security Council’s inaction and silence over the Israeli repeated attacks on the Syrian territories and renewed its call on the council to condemn these attacks and to adopt decisive measure to put an end to the Israeli acts of aggression that flagrantly violate the international law and the UN charter, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

In two identical letters to the UN Chief and president of the Security Council on Saturday, the ministry talked about the new Israeli aggression that targeted one of the Syrian military positions in Quneitra countryside in a flagrant violation of the disengagement of forces  agreement.  The ministry said that this aggression came after terrorists had launched mortar shells, upon the instructions of the Israeli entity, on an area of empty land inside the occupied territories to give the Israeli enemy a pretext to carry out its attack.

This aggression again confirm the collusion between the Israeli occupation and the armed terrorist groups and the close connection between them aiming to destabilize Syria and threaten its territorial integrity, the ministry said.

“It is nothing but a desperate attempt to support the terrorist groups including Deash and Jabhat al-Nusra, which has collapsed in different parts of Syria under the strikes of the Syrian Arab army,” the ministry added.

It pointed out that Syria warns against the dangerous repercussions of such repeated aggressive acts which can’t be interpreted except as being an attempt by Israel and its supporters to support terrorism and challenge the Security Council resolutions.
