Astana Process Contributes to Finding Political Solution to Crisis in Syria

MOSCOW, (ST)- President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan has underscored that “Astana talks on Syria have laid the foundation for the cessation of hostilities in the country.

During a ceremony on Wednesday for presenting the credentials of the ambassadors of several countries to Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev said “Astana process laid the base for the cessation of hostilities and political solution to crisis in Syria. “Together with other political tracks, Astana meetings contribute to attaining peace, security and development in all parts of the world,” he added.

 On September 15th thius year, the sixth round of Astana talks on Syria concluded with guarantor countries renewing their strong commitment to Syria’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and to fighting terrorism.
