Sabbagh Calls on IPU Assembly to Condemn Zionist Enemy’s Aggression on Syrian Military Site

ST. PETERSBURG, (ST)-Speaker of the People’s Assembly (PA) Hammoudeh al-Sabbbagh has called on participants in the International Parliamentary Union (IPU) 137th Assembly, held in St Petersburg,  to condemn yesterday’s Israeli aggression on one of the Syrian army positions in Damascus Countryside, stressing that this aggression endangers the region’s security and stability.

On Monday, the Israeli enemy fired several rockets from inside the occupied territories against a Syrian military position in Damascus Countryside, causing material damage, according to the Syrian Army General Command.

In a statement at the IPU Assembly, Sabbagh said the people’s Assembly of the Syrian Arab Republic condemns the Zionist entity’s attack on the Syrian territories. He added that such aggressive attempts indicate Israel’s fear of the Syrian army’s victories over terrorist groups and affirm the close connection between Israel and the terrorist groups in Syria.

He asserted the need to put an end to Israel’s attempt to cover up the defeats of the terrorists.

Sabbagh went on to say that those who claim that they are fighting terrorism are themselves the parties that have been sponsoring and supporting terrorists and providing medical treatment to terrorists in their hospitals.
