Army retakes more sites in Deir Ezzor, downs 2 reconnaissance aircrafts for ISIS

Deir Ezzor – The army units regained a number of important points on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River and the area surrounding al-Mayadeen city in Deir Ezzor province.

SANA said that army units carried out special operations against strategic sites for ISIS from the direction of al-Tiba village adjacent to the city of al-Mayadeen and established control over a number of those sites, killing a large number of terrorists and destroying a vehicle rigged with explosives and vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns.

In the area east of the Euphrates River, the army units operating in Hatla area retook a number of important points towards al-Siasiyeh Bridge, in an important step towards encircling ISIS terrorists in the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city.

 

SANA pointed out that the Syrian Air Force destroyed vehicles, gatherings and fortified points for ISIS in the cities of al-Mayadeen and al-Mo-Hassan and the villages of al-Tiba, Ziban, Buqrus Tahtani, Buqrus Foqani, al-Bo-leil, Badiet Khsham, Hatla, al-Salhiya, al-Husseiniya, al-Jneina and Huweijet Saqr and the neighborhoods of al-Ommal, al-Arfi, al-Sina’a, al-Hamidiya and al-Huweiqa.

More ISIS terrorists were killed or injured after heavy clashes with army units in the neighborhoods of al-Arfi and al-Sina’a, said the reporter, confirming the downing of two reconnaissance aircrafts for ISIS in the neighborhood of al-Qussour and al-Sina’a.

In another context, the helicopters of the Syrian Arab Army dropped leaflets over all the villages in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, calling on civilians to move away from ISIS sites.

Meanwhile, local sources said that new ISIS groups have fled away, including leaders Khalid Eleiwi and Samer al-Deiri, adding that ISIS terrorists killed a civilian and hanged his body at the roundabout of al-Hissan village in the northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
