Syrian-Sudanese talks to Boost Economic Cooperation

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Abdullah Al Gharbi, and Sudanese Assistant Minister of International Cooperation, Taher Adam, and the accompanying delegation discussed here on Sunday ways to activate economic cooperation relations and trade and agricultural exchange between the two countries.

Dr. Al Gharbi confirmed Syria’s keenness to activate any work that serves the issues of the peoples of the two countries and contributes to raising them and their wealth and investment of their energies and to return joint Arab action to its alleys.

He pointed to the distinguished presence of the industrialists and the owners of the Syrian economic and trade activities in Sudan and their role in participating in strengthening the economic structure of Sudan, stressing the need for joint investment projects to ensure the provision of goods to citizens of both countries and to foreign markets.

For his part, Mr. Adam, who is visiting Damascus on the occasion of the Damascus International Fair, hailed the steadfastness and heroism of the Syrian people in confronting the colonial schemes, fighting terrorism and defending his country, congratulating the Syrian people on the 59th anniversary of the Fair as an economic phenomenon.

He stressed the keenness of his country to activate economic cooperation relations and trade exchange and activate meetings between businessmen and owners of economic and industrial activities between the Syrians and Sudanese, pointing out to the Sudanese people’s affection and appreciation of the Syrian people.

The two sides agreed to exchange visits and cooperation in the fields of production and processing of industrial and food commodities in relation to the production and cultivation of wheat and sesame.
