Some 197 Industrialists from Aleppo to Participate in the Damascus International Fair

Aleppo, (ST) – The Aleppo Chamber of Industry has completed all preparations to participate in the Damascus International Fair at its 59th session, which begins today.

The head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry and the head of the Chamber of Industry of Aleppo, Eng. Fares Al-Shihabi, said in a statement to local press yesterday that the Aleppo industrialists are keen to participate extensively in the events of the fair because it constitutes an important economic and public demonstration that will highlight the skill and creativity of the Syrian industrialists and their ability to work and produce in different circumstances.

Mr. Al-Shihabi revealed that the number of Aleppo industrialists participating in the exhibition is 197 industrialists, representing different industries, and this participation will extend to an area of 3656 square meters. The textile industry has acquired the largest area of 2364 square meters, due to the wide spread of this industry, of the total industries in Aleppo, followed by engineering industries with an area of 416 square meters and then the food industries and its products spread over an area of 300 square meters, chemical industries with an area of 298 square meters and the pharmaceutical industry area of 120 square meters in addition to the participation of businesswomen in a pavilion covering an area of 158 square meters.

He pointed out that the Chamber of Industry, in support of industrialists and its keenness to make the exhibition a success, contributed 40% of the costs of the participation of garment manufacturers in the fair in exchange for the support of these industrialists to textile manufacturers in re-operating their facilities and relying on their products to strengthen the local textile.

The 59th session of the Damascus International Fair will continue until August 26th with the participation of many Syrian public and private sectors as well as economic companies from different countries.
