Iran’s IRGC to Keep Providing Advisory Support for Syrian Army

TEHRAN – Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) denied Wednesday that its troops have been involved in a direct ground operation against Takfiri terrorists in Syria, saying, however, that taking severe revenge against terrorists for the killing of its forces is on the agenda.

According to Tasnim news agency, Head of the IRGC Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif emphasized that the IRGC forces have not launched any independent ground operation inside Syria, dismissing media speculations about such combat operations.

Elsewhere in his comments, General Sharif said the IRGC would keep providing advisory support for the Syrian army and popular forces until the eradication of Takfiri terrorism in Syria.
