Syrian-Lebanese Military Coordination for the Battle of Jorud al-Qaa and Ras Baalbek

The Lebanese ‘al-Joumhouria’ newspaper has referred to a direct military coordination between leaderships of Syrian and Lebanese armies to fight against ISIS terrorists in Jorud al-Qaa and Ras Baalbek.

It reported Saturday that the leaderships of the Syrian and Lebanese armies put maps and militarily divided the area of Jorud al-Qaa and Ras Baalbek during joint meetings held over the past days.

“Time spent on direct coordination and the final touches to the military plan are behind the delay of announcing the start of the battle,” the paper added.

It quoted Lebanese military sources as saying : “Just like the other world armies, the Lebanese army will get help from people in its battle against ISIS terrorists…The political cover for liberating all the region is provided by all political forces.”

“This battle does not need any political decision as the army defends its land from aggression and terrorism , and this is its main task,” the sources said, pointing out that the battle’s zero hour will be announced by the army’s leadership.

There are many calls by Lebanese parties and dignitaries for coordination between Syrian and Lebanese armies to confront terrorists.
