Army kills scores of ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor – Syrian Arab Army units, backed by the Syrian Air Force, carried out operations against gatherings of the ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor city and the surrounding areas, inflicting heavy losses upon them in the personnel and equipment.

SANA said that army units engaged in sporadic clashes with ISIS terrorists at the southern and southwestern axes and in the surroundings of the Airport, killing scores of them.

SANA indicated that one of the leaders of ISIS, terrorist Khaled al-Naser, was identified among the terrorists killed in the village of al-Bu Omar, 5 km east of Deir Ezzor city.

The clashes were accompanied by airstrikes carried out by the Syrian Air Force against ISIS fortifications in the neighborhoods of Knamat, Mi’abar Knamat and Hwaijet Sakar and in the area of al-Panorama, as an artillery piece used by ISIS was destroyed, a number of terrorists were killed, and others were injured.

 SANA added that ISIS terrorists continued to shell the neighborhoods of al-Joura, al-Qosour and al-Muwazafin, causing only material damage.
