Grand Mufti: Syria’s Healing from Terrorism Imminent

ALEPPO, (ST)- Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun has stressed that Syria’s healing from terrorism is imminent, urging all the Syrians who were misled and fought against the homeland to repent and all who left Syria to return to take part in the country’s rebuilding process.

He made the remarks during Friday sermon at al-Rawda Mosque in Aleppo.

He said that Aleppo is a historical city and the foreign-backed terrorists wanted to have it destroyed, stressing that Aleppo and Syria, the land of amity and light, will rise again.

“We are about to end our military battle. I appeal to our brothers in Aleppo western and eastern countryside to seek reconciliation,” said the Mufti, affirming that “strangers will have no place in our homeland neither in Raqqa, nor in Idleb nor in any other place in the country.”

Hassoun called on concerned parties in all institutions and ministries to intensify their efforts as to meet the needs of the steadfast people of Aleppo.

He condemned the lies and fabrications published by the media of some Arab countries about Syria, urging adherence to the noble and sublime principles of Islam.

“The most difficult experience in history is what we in Syria have been witnessing over the past seven years and what our brothers in Yemen, Iraq, Palestine and Algeria have witnessed,” said Hassoun.

He warned the Syrian Kurds against accepting and following the conspiracy hatched by the West against Syria, calling on them to keep adherent to their state.
