Syrian,Iranian Scientific Cooperation

Damascus, (ST) -The Minister of Higher Education Dr. Atef Al Naddaf discussed on Wednesday during his meeting with the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Jawad Turkabadi ways to develop and strengthen scientific cooperation relations between the two countries.

Mr. Al Naddaf indicated tohis ministry’s keenness to strengthen the joint scientific relations through the exchange of students, professors and educational materials and reviewed the reality of teaching and examination process at universities.

He pointed to the need to renew the executive program signed between the two countries in the field of capacity building, exchange of students and scientific experiences at the level of educational institutions and benefit from the scholarships  offered, expressing the ministry’s readiness to provide training courses for Iranian students to master the Arabic language.

 For his part, the Iranian ambassador confirmed the importance of strengthening the areas of future cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries in the exchange of scientific expertise.

 Mr. Turkabadi pointed to the importance of developing work and expanding the horizons of cooperation between Syrian and Iranian universities through mutual visits to learn about the latest scientific developments.

The meeting was attended by the Iranian Cultural Counselor, the Iranian Consul in Damascus and the Assistant Minister for Scientific Research and Student Affairs and a number of concerned directors at the Ministry.
