Egyptian Companies to Participate in Damascus International Fair

Damascus, (ST) – The Arab Republic of Egypt will participate in the 59thsession of the Damascus International Fair (DIF) to be held on August 17- 26, with a pavilion covering an area of 610 square meters.

The head of the Syrian Businessmen Association in Egypt Eng. Khaldoun al Mowaqi, told local press that the Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition will include the products of large companies and factories of various activities.

He said that the participation of the Egyptian companies in the exhibition came on the basis of a proposal submitted by the Syrian businessmen in Egypt and discussed with the various Egyptian economic bodies concerned from the public and private sectors, which responded to him regarding the participation in this exhibition.

 He also said that the interest of the Egyptian companies to participate in the next Damascus International Fair is a starting point as it establishes a new beginning for greater and wider economic relations in many fields with Syria in preparation for these companies to play a role in Syria’s reconstruction process.

The Director-General of the General Organization for Exhibitions and International Markets Fares Al-Kartli expected the participation of about 30 Arab and foreign countries in the activities of Damascus International Fair, the most important of which are Egypt, Iraq, the Czech Republic and others, in addition to many local industrial companies and sectors.

The head of the Syrian Exporters Federation, Mohammed al-Sawah, said that the Federation sent invitations to about 2,000 foreign businessmen through the visitors’ committees which were formed previously. The presence of about 1500 businessmen from all sectors of the Syrian industrial sector was confirmed.
