Speaker Abbas discusses enhancing parliamentary relations with Czech Ambassador

Damascus – Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hadiyeh Abbas affirmed on Thursday the importance of developing relations between Syria and Czech Republic, particularly the parliamentary relations to serve the interest of the two friendly countries.

During a meeting with Czech Ambassador in Damascus Eva Filipi and the members of Syrian-Czech Friendship Association at the People’s Assembly, Abbas asserted the importance of activating the work of the Association to continue to enhance communication between the Syrian and Czech MPs due to their important role in promoting the level of bilateral relations in various fields, SANA reported.

 Speaker Abbas pointed out that one of the objectives of forming the Friendship Association is to strengthen communication with Syrian expatriates in the Czech Republic, adding that Syria is determining to combat terrorism.

In turn, Ambassador Filipi affirmed her country’s desire to enhance the parliamentary relations with Syria and activate the economic and investment cooperation.
