Culture Ministry to Launch ‘Cinema Tech’ Project

Ministry of Culture will launch next Monday a new project  to protect world and Syrian cinematic heritage which exists inside Syria.

The project, called ‘Cinema Tech’, has been implemented in several Arab and foreign countries and it aims to make Syrian audience acquainted with important documents related to world, Arab and Syrian cinema and productions of General Cinema Institute that dates back to more than half a century, according  to the Syria Arab News Agency (SANA).

 The agency reported Friday that Minister of Culture Mohammad al-Ahmad held a meeting with director and workers in the General Cinema Institute in order to discuss the importance of the ‘Cinema Tech’ project and the other projects to be launched this year.

“There will be a workshop on writing scenario of long films in order to discover talents in this field plus another project  for selling CDs of Syrian films, produced by General Cinema Institute five years ago, in cultural centers,” the minister said.

He also talked about the situation of youth cinema project and cinematic science diploma and preparations for reviving Damascus International Film Festival which was stopped because of terror war on Syria.

‘Cinema Tech’ will be launched next Monday in a press conference to be held at 11.00 am.
