Army destroys ISIS munitions depot and fortifications in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor – Army units, backed by the Air Force, engaged in fierce battles against ISIS terrorist groups on several axes in Deir Ezzor city and its surroundings, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists in personnel and arms.

The army units confronted on Thursday night ISIS terrorists’ attack on Tel al-Brouk, destroying several of their vehicles in the surroundings of Raqqa bridge northwest of the city, SANA reported.

 SANA added that the death of a number of ISIS terrorists was confirmed as a result of army artillery strikes against terrorists’ movements near the school and Villat al-Adim in the surroundings of al-Banorama area and the neighborhoods al-Hweiqeh, al-Rishdiyeh, the old airport, Tel al-Brouk and al-Bugheiliyeh.

In coincidence with the ground operations, the Syrian Air Force carried out intensive strikes against ISIS terrorists’ gatherings and sites in Hetleh and Marat villages in the eastern countryside Deir Ezzor, causing a fire in one of their sites in Marat, accompanied by successive explosions which turned out later to be the result of destroying a large ammunition depot.

SANA noted that the raids launched against ISIS terrorists in Hweijet Sakr, al-Banorama and al-Thurdeh in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor resulted in killing and injuring many of the terrorists.
