Syrian-Chinese Construction Cooperation

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Public Works and Housing Hussein Arnous met with the Chairman of the Syrian-European Heavy Industries Complex and a delegation representing the Chinese company “Sang Group”.

During the meeting, talks dealt with prospects of cooperation in the fields of work of the ministry.

Mr. Arnous gave a hint about thework of the Ministry, particularly the establishment of residential suburbs through the General Establishment of Housing and studies carried out by the construction companies for most vital projects, services and infrastructure.

 Minister Arnous stressed that the fields of cooperation are ” open to the Chinese friends” and that the ministry and construction companies in the reconstruction phase need cooperation and coordination with the companies of friendly countries that have many experiences and capabilities including the work of concrete and tower cranes.

For his part, the head of the Syrian-European Council, Walid Hanna Elias, expressed the desire of the association to open a line of cooperation with the ministry and provide the necessary services for the reconstruction phase because their factories are located in the industrial area in Hessia.

The delegation of the Chinese company Sang Group gave a presentation on the company’s works in the field of industries and heavy equipment and about 31 kinds of its products including building materials, alternative energy equipment, multi-metric cranes, housing and roads.
