Charity Association Held Iftar Banquet for Orphans in Damascus
El-Esaaf El-Khaeri Association [Charity Succor Association] held Wednesday Iftar banquet for orphans in its headquarters in Damascus on the occasion of Ramadan month [Muslim holy month of fasting],.
The banquet comes within the activities of ‘Leqmetna Sawa 3’ campaign [Food sharing campaign] launched by Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, according to the Syrian Arab news Agency (SANA).
The Agency quoted member of the Board of Directors of the Association’s Ghassan al-Qudsi as saying that 50 male orphans, out of 87 ones the association takes care of them, attended the banquet.
“The association, founded in 1940, takes care of male orphans and offers them shelter, healthcare and education from grade 1 to grade 6,” he added, asserting the need to organize the work of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to offer the best services during the current difficult circumstances the country is going through.
