Iftar Banquets for Syrian Martyrs’ Children, Wounded Soldiers and Security Guards

Ministry of Tourism has held Iftar banquet for wounded soldiers and security forces’ members in Youth city [Madinat al-Shabab] in Mazzeh district in Damascus in order to embody the meaning of goodness in Ramadan month [Muslim holy month of fasting], which started last Saturday.

The banquet, held Friday, was attended by 400 wounded soldiers and security members, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The agency quoted Minister of Tourism Bisher Yazigy as saying that the participation of wounded soldiers and members of security forces in today’ s activity is an opportunity to listen to many stories about the six-year old war on Syria.

Another statement was made by Captain Mahmod Rammo from Martyrs Department in Interior Ministry, who said that the activity coincides with the 72nd Internal Security Forces Day that commemorates the parliament’s guards and security forces’ members who were martyred by the French occupation in May 29th of 1945.

He vowed that he and his colleagues will press ahead with fighting terrorism, pointing out that many wounded members of security forces determined on going back to fields of combat after their recovery.

Two days ago, Organization of Revolutionary Youth Union (R.Y.U) held Iftar banquet for the sons and daughters of martyrs in the same city [Madinat al-Shabab].

Head of the Organization Ma’en Abbod said that taking care of martyrs’ children and relatives is the duty of everyone. “Whatever we offer to Martyrs’ children, it won’t be compared to sacrifices of  their fathers.”

On his part, the Republic’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badereddin Hasson talked about the meaning of martyrdom and heroism of Syrian Arab army in defending the homeland.

He called on martyrs’ children to follow their fathers’ noble values and to participate in rebuilding Syria in order to confront challenges that threaten Syrian people’s present and future.

Director-General of the General Commission of Martyrs’ sons and daughters Shahira Falloh said that the activity reflects interest of government and society in supporting martyrs’ children.

Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war has been waged against Syria targeting its army, people, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
