Eliminating Terrorism a Necessity to find Way out of Crisis in Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Sousan has stressed that the terrorist aggression Syria is facing is the result of the arrogant and hegemonic policies adopted by some international and regional powers which has been providing all forms of support for their terrorist tools.

Sousan made the remarks during his meeting on Monday with the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Political Director at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Serbia Zoran Vujic.  The meeting dealt with developments in Syria and the region as well as with bilateral relations.

He added that these powers’ support to the terrorists in Syria uncovers the falseness of their claims about fighting terrorism which poses serious threat to international peace and security, reiterating that eliminating terrorism is a necessity to find a way out to the current crisis in Syria.

Sousan reaffirmed the determination of the Syrian people and army to defend Syria’s sovereignty and independent decision, asserting that deciding Syria’s future is the exclusive right of the Syrian people.

On his part, Vujic expressed his country’s support for Syria in the confrontation of terrorism and hoped that security and stability will be restored to the country soon. He reiterated the need to respect the international law and countries sovereignty and unity.

The Serbian official stressed his country’s appreciation over Syria’s firm stance towards the province of Kosovo and over its support for the unity of the Serbian lands.

Both sides expressed will to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all domains in embodiment of the historical friendship.
