Army destroys ISIS tunnel and vehicles

Provinces – Army and Armed Forces units foiled a number of attacks by ISIS and destroyed a number of their vehicles and a tunnel in the eastern countryside of Hama province and in Deir Ezzor city and its surroundings, SANA reported.

Hama

Army units destroyed two vehicles belonging to ISIS in the area of al-Azib valley, foiling an attack against military posts in the eastern countryside of Hama central province.

An army unit, in cooperation with supporting forces, engaged in violent clashes with ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups that attacked military posts in the area between Salamyieh and Ethraya in the eastern countryside, and that the attack was foiled after killing scores of the ISIS terrorists and destroying their machinegun-equipped vehicles.

An army unit also destroyed two ISIS vehicles, one of them equipped with a heavy machinegun, in clashes that took place in the area of al-Azib valley to the east of Salamyieh City.

 

Deir Ezzor

Army units carried out special operations against positions and gatherings of ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor city and its surroundings.

An army unit destroyed a 32-meter-long tunnel in the vicinity of the offices area in al-Sina’a neighborhood, thereby cutting off the road before car bombs sent by ISIS could reach military posts.

SANA added that the army personnel defending Deir Ezzor Airport foiled an attack by ISIS terrorists against military posts positioned at the eastern axis of the airport, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others, in addition to destroying their arms and military equipment.

Another army unit eliminated a terrorist group in a special operation carried out in the area of al-Malha in the surroundings of the Regiment 137 on the southwestern outskirts of Deir Ezzor city.
