400 Gunmen and Some of Their Families Start to Leave al-Waer Neighborhood

Homs- A new batch of gunmen along with some of their family members who rejected to join the reconciliation agreement in al-Waer neighborhood started to leave the neighborhood towards Jarablus in the northeast countryside of Aleppo.

The reconciliation agreement of al-Waer neighborhood aims at clearing the neighborhood from arms and gunmen and paving the way for the return of governmental institutions to it, according to SANA.

 SANA reporter in Homs said that as part of the of the reconciliation agreement reached last March in al-Waer neighborhood, the eighth batch of neighborhood’s gunmen and some of their families started to leave it according to the specific program of the agreement under the supervision of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the Internal Security Forces and the Russian Military Police.

Homs governor said in a statement to SANA that the phases of the reconciliation agreement are going ahead without any obstacles, expecting that nearly 400 gunmen, along with some of their family members will head for Jarablus in this batch.

Last Sunday, 463 gunmen and some of their family members headed for Idleb while hundreds others have had their legal status settled in accordance with the Amnesty Decree.
