Syrian-Indian Construction Cooperation

 Damascus,(ST)- Minister of Public Works and Housing Eng. Hussein Arnous discussed with a delegation from the Modcon Company of India ways of cooperation in the field of the activities of the ministry and its works.

 The Minister welcomed the entry of Indian companies to work in the field of infrastructure and construction of residential buildings in cooperation with Syrian construction companies, pointing to the distinguished relations between Syria and India.

 He called on Indian companies to invest in Syria and participate in the upcoming Damascus international and reconstruction exhibitions, which allow Indian businessmen to view the investment opportunities in Syria.

  For his part, the Syrian ambassador to India Dr. Riyad Abbas pointed to the importance of cooperation and working with Indian companies because of their “honesty in dealing and love for the Syrian people”. He called on the Syrian and Indian sides to benefit from the strong relations between the two countries and to invest in developing economic relations.

 The Director of the General Establishment for Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, studies several projects in the field of housing, where coordination and cooperation can be accomplished  between the two sides. During the meeting, the two sides agreed on holding a technical meeting today between members of the Indian company and staff of the Housing Foundation to view the details of the projects and visit one of the residential sites prepared by the Foundation for construction on the outskirts of Damascus.

 Members of the company expressed their willingness to participate in construction and housing activities, especially that the company has advanced equipment and various specialties to work in this area.
