Premier Conveys President Al-Assad’s Greetings to Syria’s Workforce on International Workers Day

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)-Prime Minister Imad Khamis has conveyed President Bashar Al-Assad’s congratulations and greetings to Syria’s workers marking International Workers Day.   

During his visit to al-Dimas power station in Damascus countryside and a factory for textile industries and ready-made garments in Kafarsoussa area in Damascus, Khamis said “the Syrians will continue to defend their country and build its institutions regardless plots and difficult circumstances.”

The premier saluted the steadfastness of the Syrian workers and hailed the efforts of the Syria army which is currently fighting terrorism across the country.

 ” We came here to convey the congratulations of President Bashar Al-Assad to the Syrian workers who, during the war against their country, proved to be an example for the workers of the world and a supporter for the brave Syrian Arab army in the face of the unjust war targeting their country, ” Khamis said, according to SANA.

He stressed that marking May Day is a strong message that the workers are the main basis of development in any country in the world.

Later in the day, a government delegation led by the prime minister visited Adra city in Damascus countryside and inspected the situation of services and the work process in the workers’ district and the Adra General Establishment for Cement and Building Materials.

The premier said that the government has dedicated 500 million Syrian pounds to the Housing General Establishment in order to carry out restoration works for houses affected by terrorism in the district.
