PRAGUE, (ST)- Ex-Czech Defense Minister Miroslav Kostelka has stressed that the western countries haven’t provided any evidence proving their allegations that the Syrian army was responsible for the Khan Sheikhoun chemical incident, casting doubts about the existence of such evidence.
Western countries, namely France, continued their misleading and disinformation campaign against Syria regarding Khan Sheikhopun incident in an attempt to hide the truth about this crime and who is behind it, said Kostelka in a statement to the Czech “Parliamentary Papers” website published on Saturday.
He pointed out that these western accusations and allegations have been made without conducting any independent international investigation, noting that such an investigation is an important and logical procedure called for by Russia.
On April 4, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denied claims that the Syrian government used toxic gases in Khan Sheikhoun or in any other village or city in Syria. It affirmed that the Syrian Arab army doesn’t have any kind of chemical weapon and that it hasn’t used these weapons and won’t use them in future and it even doesn’t seek possessing them.
