Syria Restores Bodies of Five Martyrs from Maaloula Abducted by al-Nusra Terrorists in 2013

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE- Damascus Countryside Governorate  received on Tuesday the bodies of five martyrs from the locals of Maaloula town who were killed after being abducted by the terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra when they attacked the town on the 7th of September 2013, SANA reported.

Alaa Ibrahim, Damascus Countryside Governor , who was at Jdeidet Yabous crossing point on the Syrian-Lebanese borders to supervise receiving the martyrs’ bodies, said that Syria, in cooperation with the Lebanese side, restored the bodies of five martyrs who were killed several years ago by the terrorist organizations to be handed over to their families to bury them in their hometown of Maaloula.

 On his part, Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All East Gregory III Laham offered condolences to the martyrs’ families.

Last  Saturday, Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch and All East announced the death of five of the locals of Maaloula town who were found dead in a cave in the Lebanese town of Arsal. The five martyrs were kidnapped along with another person, whose fate is still unknown, by the terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra during their assault on the town in 2013.
