Rouhani: Healthy Election Awaiting Iran

Tehran –   President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Iran waits for a sound, safe, fair and broad presidential election, slated for on May 19, which will serve as another honor for the Islamic Republic of Iran in light of the invaluable guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

President Rouhani made the remarks in an address to a meeting with the Supreme Leader, a group of officials and ambassadors of the Islamic countries on the occasion of the anniversary of the day when Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was chosen as the last messenger of God.

 “In light of the guidelines of the Supreme Leader, who has always been defending the republican and Islamic features of the establishment courageously and invited all of us to observe the essence of law, and while filled with hope and provided with public trust, we are waiting healthy, safe, fair and broad election, which would serve as another honor for the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He said the great Iranian nation seeks to create one more epic on May 19.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is proud of all its high-ranking officials gaining their legitimate authority out of public votes either directly or indirectly, the president added.

Noting that the world of Islam has unfortunately been afflicted with violence, terror, instability and insecurity, President Rouhani said that it has thus failed to gain progress due to the problems.
