Industry Minister, Czech Ambassador discuss industrial cooperation

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Industry Eng. Ahmed Hamo discussed here with Czech Ambassador in Damascus Eva Felipe the existing industrial cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and how to activate these relations and the possibility of participation of Czech companies in the reconstruction phase in Syria.

Mr. Al-Hamo called for discussing the possibility of establishing joint projects between the Syrian companies and their Czech counterparts in the field of cement, glass and food industries, in addition to contributing to the rehabilitation of public industrial companies previously established by the Czech companies.

The Minister pointed to the importance of increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries through the export of Syrian industrial products, especially textiles to the Czech Republic and importing the requirements of the production process and production lines necessary for public industrial companies.

For her part, the Czech Ambassador expressed her country’s desire to develop areas of cooperation with Syria and the desire of Czech companies to establish partnerships with Syrian companies and activate economic and investment cooperation between the two countries to serve the two friendly peoples.

The two sides agreed to continue consultations to reach the final version of the draft agreement on cooperation in the field of industry, which has already been submitted to the Czech side in preparation for signing.
