Armed Groups’ Presence in Madaya Comes to An End, Displaced Citizens to Return Home

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)- Alaa Ibrhaim, the Governor of Damascus Countryside, has stressed that after the entire armed presence in the towns of Madaya, Boukin and Bloudan has come to an end,  the displaced people of these towns will start returning home and all services will gradually be restored as the rehabilitation of the damaged infrastructure and public utilities are to immediately start.

In a statement to reporters during his tour in the three towns to inspect the damage caused by terrorists in these areas, Ibrahim said “maintenance teams will work around the clock to fix the damage caused to the infrastructure and to restore the services from which the people of these towns have been deprived for years because of takfiri terrorist groups’ crimes.”

He added that concerned parties in the governorate have started sending humanitarian aid to the people of Madaya.

Ibrahim pointed out that “within the coming two days, we will visit Zabadani town after the Syrian Arab Army completes clearing it of the mines left by the armed groups in order to pave the way for the return of the locals to their homes as soon as possible”.

According to the governor, a large number of youths refused to leave Zabadani and Madaya to Idleb despite attempts by anti-Syria media outlets, which took part in shedding the Syrian blood, to frighten them of staying.

“These young people have turned themselves in to authorities and get their legal status settled and now they are practicing their ordinary life,” the governor said.

He urged the people who left to Idleb to return to their towns and take part in reconstructing what terrorist takfiri groups, affiliated to the Israeli enemy, have destroyed.

On Saturday, buses carrying some 5000 people from the terrorist- besieged Syrian villages of Kafraya and al-Fou’a of Idleb Countryside arrived today in the city of Aleppo in implementation of an agreement reached to evacuate locals from the two villages in parallel with the departure of gunmen and their families from al-Zabadani and Madaya towns in Damascus countryside to Idleb.
