Syrian Children Dream of World without War

Karim, a six-year old boy from Syria, has had wonderful time with many children in an interactive workshop held in Lattakia city and has drawn a painting using colors of rainbow to express his hope for a better future.

His painting plus 50 paintings drawn by the children participated in the workshop have been featured in an exhibition kicked off at the beginning of this week in Dar al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia city under the banner ‘The World Without War’.

 The paintings show children’s vision for Syria’s peace and future, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported Monday, adding that Public Children Library in cooperation with the Russian ‘Dar’ Group for Culture organized the three-day exhibition.

The agency quoted member of the Board of Directors of the library Wisal Younis as saying: ” principles of peace, love, smile and hope were the titles of paintings drawn by children, who were divided into two groups during the workshop.”

On her part, chairperson of the Russian group Valantina Kibsh underlined the need to hold such activities to consolidate the beauty of peace in children’s minds far away from terror war being waged on Syria.

“Several activities have been organized by the Russian Group and the public library on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year,” she said

The paintings drawn by the children will be also featured in the conferences hall in Hmeimim center in order to show Syrian children’s’ vision for their country without war.
