Fighting Terrorism National, International Responsibility

MOSCOW, (ST)- Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly Hadiya Abbas has stressed that fighting terrorism is a national and international responsibility, thus  Syria has requested  for Russia’s help in the war on terrorism.

Abbas, accompanied by a Parliamentary delegation, is on a visit to Moscow for talks on Syrian-Russian cooperation.

During her meeting with a delegation representing the Russian Social Council in Moscow on Thursday, Abbas said that the Syrian government has requested for Russia and Iran’s assistance in the war on terror given the strategic ties between Syria and each of the two countries. She added that the Lebanese resistance has also joined Syria’s battle against the terrorist groups which pose serious threat to the region and the entire world.

She pointed out that the Syrian army in cooperation with its allies has achieved notable victories over terrorist in different parts of Syria. These victories have angered the United States and led it to launch attacks on the Syrian Army in Deri Ezzour and other places and on Syria’s vital facilities in order to raise the collapsed morale of the terrorists, she added.

She went on to say that the United States has fabricated the Khan Sheikhoun alleged chemical incident as to blame the Syrian army and find a pretext to attack Syria, although all know that Syria has handed over its chemical weapon under international supervision.

According to Abbas, Trump has shed crocodile tears over the victims of the fabricated chemical attack, but he didn’t cry over more than 200 hundred Iraqi victim in Mosul killed by the American bombardment of the city,
