Damascus International Fair to be Held on August 17-26

DAMASCUS – A special work meeting headed by Prime Minister Imad Khamis was held on Thursday to draw up an integrated action plan to launch Damascus International Fair, setting August 17-26 as a date for organizing the fair.

The meeting outlined the main headlines to organize the fair in terms of determining the required amounts of money through the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, setting up a mechanism for communication with embassies and companies of friendly countries and developing integrated action plans to ensure the widest participation of industrialists and businessmen from these countries.

 The meeting also discussed forming a media work team led by the ministers of Information and Economy and Foreign Trade that will work on the promotion campaign before the launching of the fair.

Premier Khamis highlighted the importance of the fair as an economic, cultural, tourist and artistic event, noting that the government will provide all the requirements to ensure its success, noting that the organizing of the fair comes within the government’s plan to re-activate the production and development process in the country.

The meeting was attended by ministers of Interior, Information, Culture, Transport and Economy and Foreign Trade, businessmen, heads of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside and Syrian Exporters Federation, the Director of the General Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets and the commander of the police of Damascus and its Countryside.
