Head of Iran-Russia Parliamentary Group Ramezanali Sobhani-far said on Tuesday that expansion of relations between the two countries help increase security of the Middle East region, eradication of terrorism and increase of economic cooperation.
Speaking to IRNA, he referred to the recent visit of President Rouhani to Russia, and said the visit played significant role in expanding economic cooperation, exports of Iranian products to Russia, transfer of technological knowhow for construction of power plants, increase of political relations and playing significant role at international scenes.
Russia regards Iran as an important strategic country in the region and for the same reason the two sides should broaden cooperation in dealing with the sanctions imposed by the West and resolving regional issues through political means, he said.
Iran and Russia to adopt identical stances on Syria stand atop agenda on regional developments as they prevented the so-called pro-democracy countries and supporters of terrorism to fail to carry out their plots, he said.
After implementation of the JCPOA, share of both sides in trade exchanges has been increased considerably, he said.
