Damascus – The Syrian team won a total of 11 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, and 7 bronze) at the Muay Thai Arab Championship held in Beirut, Lebanon.
In the men’s competitions, Al- al-Jaghal (57 kg) won a gold medal, Ahmad Shaker (51 kg) won bronze, Adnan Bardan (71 kg) won bronze, and Yamen Hujaira (91 kg) won bronze.
In the youths competitions Bassel Hainoun (71 kg) won silver, Tamam Alaeddin (60 kg) won bronze, and Tarek al-Ghanim (63 kg) won bronze, while in the women’s competitions Khitam Zahreddin (60 kg) won silver.
Zahreddin also won gold in the Muay Boran demonstration event, while al-Ghanim and Shaker won bronze in the solo fights category.
170 athletes from 14 Arabs countries participated in the Muay Thai Arab Championship.
