Syria, Iran Discuss Cultural Relations

Minister of Culture Mohammad al-Ahmad  has said Syria is ready to do any joint cultural work with Iran, referring to the deep-rooted historical relations between Syrian and Iranian peoples.

His remarks were made during his meeting on Wednesday with Cultural Attaché of the Iranian embassy in Damascus Mustafa Najarian, who affirmed that culture is cornerstone of building human society.

“Syrian-Iranian cultural relations have been successful throughout history and we are looking forwards to doing joint cultural activity,” Najarian said, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

 The agency pointed out that the Iranian cultural attaché also held talks with Director of General Cinema Institute Murad Shahin.

The talks dealt with means of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries through organizing activities in field of cinema.

the Iranian cultural attaché gave honorary shields to Syrian Ministry of Culture and General Cinema Institute in recognition of their efforts to activate cultural and cinema activities including ‘week of Syrian-Iranian child’s cinema’, which was a chance for Syrian-Iranian cultural rapprochement.
